Nothing motivates people more than a upbeat song to move to! Students move around, dance and are actively engaged more during Physical Education time when they are listening to music. We currently do not have a good means to play music in our gym, we have a large gym with a very high ceiling where sound bounces around. My students would love to have music to listen to while playing games, doing progressions, instant activities and especially their fitness! The Befree portable speaker will be load enough for students to move to and the blue tooth will make it easy for me to start and stop the music from anywhere in the gym! Just imagine being at the gym working out with NO music! My students also deserve a quality health education with plenty of hands-on activities that I can incorporate with physical activity. I want my students to not only know how physical activity relates to their bodies and minds but also what they eat and drink. The Muscle man puzzle will help the students see, touch and hear about the muscular system, and the health helpings Myplate nutrition game will help me teach my nutrition content. In the hopes to hit many different learning styles so each student can walk out of my class having learned the essentials about health. Finally I believe in the research done for "Minds in Motion". The link between balance, hand eye coordination and building up the neurological foundation for students sensory-motor integration and how students learn is more than proven. My students will be challenged with balance and gymnastics using the balance pods and balls, direction arrows and bean bag sets!
