My students are excited, fascinated learners who amaze me every day. They are beating the odds, coming from adverse backgrounds and broken homes, yet motivated and curious each day. My students come from families where both parents work hard to make ends meet, or can't find jobs. Most of my students don't have access at home to computers, let alone the Internet. They have few opportunities to interact with technology. They are the first in their household to speak English, and it is amazing how they absorb information. They are leaders in their home and their communities in the ways that they use opportunities from school to educate their surrounding environment. They dream big and work hard to achieve their dreams!
