I need financial assistance for a 200-hour wellness and yoga teacher training designed specifically for educators. After the training, my math classes will be able to integrate mindfulness and wellness practices into their daily routine. This could be simple things like beginning each class with 2 minutes of meditation, playing Slope Yoga or teaching breathing techniques. The ultimate goal would be to teach my students how to self regulate, especially before tests and finals. Every year I have taught, I have had a least one student attempt suicide. Last year I had four in my homeroom. There needs to be more preventative work done for mental health in the classroom. Right now it seems like we are just putting out fires.
