The classroom-wide use of interactive notebooks are a proven method to help my students organize and keep track of daily lessons and give them the opportunity to take ownership of their own learning. Furthermore, interactive notebooks provide a way to keep everyone up-to-date on assignments and ensure that all the students have readily available study material to be successful in Biology. A simple spiral notebook transforms into a valuable learning tool for all students in my 9th grade Biology classes. Surprisingly many of my students are not able to provide their own due to economic hardships. I would like to see all of my students start the school year with the benefit of using a spiral notebooks to create their own interactive notebook to enhance their learning.
