In order to strengthen our students as readers, we spend one and a half hours every morning reading individually, in pairs and in small groups. We move around a lot to help students stay focused. With this furniture, we will be able to make a reading area where students may take turns leaving their desks to sit in a comfy corner and read for a while. We will buy throw pillows, curtains and warm lighting for the corner to make it inviting and special for the students. For many, our time in the morning spent reading is their only time to unwind with a book. We want to make it special.

About my class
