My students need engaging hands-on STEM-based materials. They will use the microscopes and slides to get an up close look at animals and insects. They will be able to explore and categorize rocks while also building their fine motor skills. My students will also have the opportunity to problem solve and create structures using engineering design products like the marble run and bridge building. My students come alive when they are able to explore in a hands-on setting. On a daily basis my students are given the opportunity to explore and expand upon their own learning in an independent and individualized setting. They gravitate toward the areas where they are able to work with their hands. Currently, our science and STEM areas are lacking the appropriate materials to truly satiate their curiosity. With these materials, my students will be able to explore chemistry, architecture, biology, and geology. These materials will also allow them to further critically analyze aspects of the world around them and develop problem solving skills.
