In an early childhood classroom, students spend a substantial portion of the school day sitting on a rug together. Throughout the day, students gather on the rug for calendar time, to listen to a read aloud, sing songs, dance and stretch, play games, turn and talk, receive directions or instruction and much, much more. My students need this large rug so that they can all sit together comfortably and be able to focus on the activities at hand. This new rug will allow my students to have their own personal space on the rug and lessen distraction from a nearby peer.

About my class
