When I started teaching in January my classroom had no books upon my arrival. In an effort to get my classroom ready as soon as possible, the school threw some books together to place inside my classroom. However, the books given were those my students are not capable of reading yet as their reading is very low. With the help of this project, my goal is to get a kit of leveled books for our classroom library so that when my students are doing their independent reading they are excited and actually able to read, understand and comprehend the materials they are reading. I feel that with this kit my students will be more excited about our Drop Everything and Read time, as well as, be able to increase their reading scores and stamina as time permits.
