Kindergarten learning centers are one of my students favorite components in my classroom throughout the school day. These hands-on learning centers give my kindergartners a sense of satisfaction. It allows them to be presented with a task, then follow the steps to complete the task. They are able to take the activity from start to finish and complete it. My students are able to complete the centers independently and I can watch their confidence soar! Sometimes I think I am so inundated with what I need to teach them that I forget how they need to learn! The benefits of using these hands-on math and literacy centers are not just for the students, but for myself as a teacher, as well. We learn by doing! The hands-on center materials that I have selected will allow my students the opportunity to explore concepts through the use of different modalities, which encourages the development of higher order critical thinking. The skills needed to become successful lifelong learners that are college and career ready. I have had the unique opportunity as an educator to see positive growth through hands-on learning. Providing my students with these materials will have an impact on their educational success and their future academic goals. Additional resources and hands-on materials will help us grow even more. Learning is in our hands!
