Creating a positive learning environment for my students, has always been a professional and personal goal of mine. Part of building that environment, is providing my students with the resources needed to be successful. When I reflect on my reading experiences as a child, I can't name just one or two books that stand out. I remember books like The Giving Tree that reminded me of the love my parents show. Or of The Stinky Cheese Man, that taught me that books can have different versions of the same story and many many other books. Many of the books that I can remember were introduced to me by my teachers. Teachers that took the time to look for engaging and meaningful books that they knew would completely enthrall me and my peers. As a teacher myself, I strive to provide my students with the same opportunities that were given to me.
