Without meaningful dissections, students' learning of Anatomy will be negatively impacted. By dissecting a cow eyeball, students will better understand the anatomy of the human eye. By dissecting a sheep brain, students will be able to manipulate and discover the tissues that they have learned about in the human brain. By dissecting a sheep kidney, students will be able to visualize and manipulate the renal pelvis, cortex, medulla and other features of the human kidney. By dissecting a sheep heart, students can discover the valves, chambers and veins/arteries that feed the human heart. Finally, by growing bacteria from their own hands, students will be able to understand how many different types of bacteria live on our skin and how that organ keeps us healthy and safe!
