Health Opportunities High School serves a diverse student population in the South Bronx. More than three-quarters of our students are described to be economically disadvantaged. Despite the various socio-economic challenges that our students face, they are highly motivated and ambitious. They work really hard to maximize their unique potentials and surmount various challenges that surface on a daily basis. I deeply believe that it is my responsibility as a teacher to make sure that my students have access to adequate classroom supplies to stimulate a sense of excitement and engagement in the classroom.
