Young children develop skills in all areas of development—physical, cognitive, social/emotional, language & literacy through painting at an easel! Children strengthen fine motor skills and develop hand-eye coordination as they dip their brush in the paint and put it to their paper. They develop cognitive skills as they plan, organize and select materials for their work. Painting at an easel allows children to express their feelings and emotions through their choice of color. They express their individuality at the easel! Children develop language as they discuss their creations. The teacher writes down what the child says about his/her work and the child learns that their thoughts can be put on paper in picture and words!
