Currently there are few working sets of library headphones, which means not every student who is able to use a computer has access to headphones. New, Sony headphones will allow students to listen along with books as the read on programs such as Pebble Go for research, and it will allow them access to literacy videos without bothering their neighbor. Research shows that listening to books models fluent reading and can increase student fluency, something that can aid students in every subject. By obtaining new library headphones, every student in our elementary will benefit. The library is the center of the school, and I hope for it to be a future ready location where students learn literacy skills to last.
