Building a love of reading is paramount in the education of young learners. I want my students to love being called to the carpet for reading time! Some of my favorite memories from elementary school are linked to a book I just can't forget. I want that experience for my kids! Books open up a new world full of limitless opportunities where they can fill in their own blanks. I want my children to gain confidence in a foundation that will be laid for years to come. The carpet, books, and writing materials will be a creative place for reading, writing, and imagining. Our new rug will give us a great place to gather to read our new books and discuss our own story ideas. With our new pens, markers, and pencils we can all get excited about putting our ideas, stories, and reflections on paper! Our class will build a community of readers and writer's from the comfort of our new gathering rug!

About my class
