I am the Dance Director at a public high school, and we are a title 1 school. My students come from all different backgrounds and are unable to purchase their own tap shoes. So I am trying to obtain a class set so that I can add tap into my curriculum and expose my amazing students to a new style of dance! My program is self funded, meaning I do not get funding from our school for supplies and costumes, so I am unable to purchase tap shoes for my students. Providing them with resources such as tap shoes gives them the opportunity to experience new styles and technique that they typically couldn't get anywhere else. I train most of my students from the beginning, so I get the pleasure to see them grow each year. My students are so dedicated and enthusiastic about dance and I would love to be able to teach them tap to add to their repertoire.
