My English Language learners ( ESL) and students with learning disabilities need multi-sensory instruction. We learn in center rotation, library, computer and small leveled groups. The software programs use exciting activities to improve basic phonics through comprehension skills. Our leveled books in the reading center allow our students to listen to the story. By using all their senses, they are learning effectively. My students love music. During individual work or in the reading center, the music is played to enhance mental performance. Many students have commented on how relaxed they are or how much they have accomplished. It is an essential tool in multi-sensory education. My classroom is student driven. There are so many different levels of reading skill , that I have to individualize instruction. Through a positive mindset , everyone can learn. That is our goal in this class.
