I believe that having proficient skills in literacy and Math are the foundations for success. Being proficient will open up doors for my students and it starts with me the day they walk into the room in Kindergarten. When my students enter the room I want them to see everything they need to be successful. Folders, markers, manipulatives, and countless other materials are necessary to assist in the learning process. I would love for them to have folders for Writing and Math. This helps students to see their progress over a period of time and allows them to go back and make changes to their work when they learn a new skill. Please help my students reach their goals and succeed! I would like for each student to have a bag for their independent reading books. Having this bag filled with leveled books as well as interest books increases their love of reading as well as their reading stamina. I would love for each table to have a tool box to keep their math manipulatives in so they are readily available when they are working in small groups. I would like my students to have Math bags to keep their Math supplies in. This teaches them to be responsible for their belongings and decreases the amount of time used to hand thing out to students. Ten Frames for addition and subtraction are a wonderful tool to help young learners!
