Having an individual copy of Refugee will allow the students to read independently and understand deeper. They will use post it notes to annotate to aid in classroom discussions. We will follow the 6 week plan on Global Read Aloud. We will use technology to participate in global communities. I will also gather other materials to help in assisting their understanding (ie: Non-fiction articles, videos, etc). Refugee is especially interesting because it is written in three different points of view. This will allow my students to not only compare the characters to themselves, but also each other. One world...one book!
