My students need classroom mailboxes to keep their work both organized and safe throughout the school day. Each student will be given their own mailbox to organize their materials such as interactive notebooks and writing journals. In second grade, we use interactive notebooks to review skills taught in language arts, math, social studies, and science. We use notebooks as writing journals as well. My students will learn how to take care of their own belongings by storing them in their designated mailboxes when they complete their work. I believe organization is an important life skill and second grade is an excellent time to begin teaching students how to become organized.
