Mr. Taylor, a 5th grade teacher, and myself are excited to teach our students this year about the three dimensional world. We want to create a STEAM lesson that incorporates learning into our Fine Arts Friday projects. We want to engage our students and teach them the science behind creating in the 3-D. Our project idea stems from 5th grade science/engineering standards in which students learn to identify a simple problem with the design of an object that reflects a need or a want. We want to focus on how technology and invention is a process where failure and success are used to improve a model or prototype. In addition, 5th grade economic standards will be incorporated to show how the increase of technology has effected supply and demand and goods and services. Students will use the elements and principals of art to create ideas for objects that will be printed on the Flash Forge Finder 3-D Printer.
