These materials will help because the students will move a lot more in the classroom, will be free to choose where they sit and find out what works best for them individually in order to focus on their work inside the classroom. I have had desks in my classroom for the last 2 years I have been teaching and I realized that the students need more sitting options and I want to provide this for them. The different seats I want to purchase for the classroom will help them move around and feel comfortable enough to learn as much as they can. In order to succeed in that project, here are the items I need in my classroom : - yoga balls : not all the kids have the same needs, some kids need more movement than others, yoga balls will give these students the movement they need. Being in motion will help these students be more engaged cognitively. - lap desks : with these, students can sit wherever they want in the classroom and be comfortable. - inflatable wobble cushions : thanks to that, students can sit wherever they want, even at their desk without being on a chair, and they will enjoy the sensations of the wobble cushions. They can work, play games, read books and do many other activities. - futon : the futon is more for the library space I have in my classroom. Reading is great, students love it, but it's even more enjoyable if they can sit comfortably. The flexible seating will allow them to work better together as well.
