My students are just beginning their school career at 5 years old. I want them to be able to make seating choices in the classroom that they enjoy, that provide comfort, and will motivate them to stay engaged and work hard. Items such as the space flex chairs and the reading pillows will allow my students to not only pick a mode of comfort that will work for them while they get their work done, it will also lend itself nicely to small group work and encourage collaboration among peers. Kindergarteners love novelty and having a few portable seating options besides tables and chairs will be very motivating and empowering as they can choose which type of seating and also where to put the seat itself. I'm very excited to use these flexible seating options in my classroom this year.
