My students have a variety of challenges directly related to autism. One such challenge involves a need for sensory stimulation. With the items I chose for this project, my students will be given their best opportunity to optimize their academic learning experience. For example, the Kore patented WOBBLE Chair and the Trideer inflated Stability Wobble Chair gives students the opportunity to be moving while seated and simultaneously be active in the learning process. Also, the ECR4kids Assorted Colors Sand and Water Table Center gives students a multi sensory experience while a variety of skills are being taught. With their sensory needs met, there will be nothing to stop them from concentrating on their academic demands. Once they feel safe and settled, the sky is the limit for their success in the classroom. The items I chose will meet their needs from a sensory perspective and give them the confidence to learn and use that knowledge to succeed in their school, their community, and ultimately, the world awaiting them.
