Our school is a 21 year old public school building with an enrollment of 812 students. We are a Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) school. We are the Spanish teachers for our first grade DLI students. We currently have 57 students in our two first grade classrooms. We teach 29 first graders in one of the classes, and 28 students in the other first grade class. We are located in a suburban area. These children have missed preschool, all or part of kindergarten, and parts of 1st grade due to Covid-19. These children have many needs, as we try to help them fill in those missing months of learning. Students come from our local community, as well as neighboring communities. Many parents drive quite a long distance to bring their child to a school that offers a chance for their child to learn a second language.
