My students are eager and energetic students, and having a colorful, organized carpet area will help us build community and make carpet learning time more effective. The lessons and activities that take place on the carpet are an essential component to my first graders' learning experience. Carpet activities help build a strong and caring classroom community and help refocus students' attention. A carpet with clearly delineated seating areas will help my first grade students know where to sit so that they can focus best on the lessons and activities. Having this carpet in our classroom will save invaluable time, as energy can be focused into the lesson rather than into directing and redirecting students on where they should sit. This carpet will have a lasting impact throughout the school year and in years to come!
