Shared reading is such an important component in teaching young learners how to be good readers. Through shared reading, students are able to see the text and share the responsibility of reading along with the teacher. These big books will enrich my instruction by increasing fluency, modeling effective decoding skills, and pinpoint phonetic concepts. Whisper Phones enable emergent readers to hear themselves read. This supports reading comprehension, phonemic skills, and fluency. These literacy materials are essential in my first grade classroom. By funding this project you are helping little learners become mature readers who will be lifelong learners in all content areas.
