My students will be the first group of students in a brand new STEM school. Many of my students come from low-income families and many of them do not speak English natively. Our STEM school will give them access and exposure to science, technology, engineering, and math programs that will help them become global citizens and develop 21st century skills such as problem solving and collaboration. As a first year teacher, I will surround my students with hands-on challenges that help them learn more about the world around them. My classroom will bubble with chatter and questions about what we are learning. Each day will be a new quest for knowledge and my inquisitive students will lead the way with their thirst for learning.
