Every morning, my students and I meet for morning meeting. This time of day gives us the opportunity to start every school day off on the right foot. We do a greeting, share, activity and read a message. My students and I need a carpet to form a common area where we can all meet. This time of day is critical, and ensuring that we have an area big enough to meet on allows our class to become a family. I am asking for a carpet for my class, as well as a standing desk and fidget pedals for my more active students. These tools allow my students to move and get their wiggles out while also being engaged in lessons. The carpet will also allow our class to participate in whole group lessons and read alouds where the students gather on the carpet. This common area is critical for our classroom community, and serves as a space where we truly get to know each other .
