My students will be able to enjoy the classroom library with the ability to curl up on a bean bag on a relaxing rug during this vital reading time. For students who were affected by Hurricane Harvey may have never had a safe place to take risks and explore the world of reading, these items will foster a sense of comfort and security, which is essential for children. These flexible seating options and reading rug will facilitate my scholars as they learn the essential skills of reading independently or with a buddy. These skills are much easier to learn when basic needs are met. My students deserve a safe and comfortable setting as they learn to read. It is important that they grow to love reading and a safe comfortable space is key to the amazing experience we know as reading.
