Students love to read funny books and share them with their friends. They also love to read books written by the same author. This helps young readers become familiar with patterns and helps improve their reading comprehension. These books will help me create a Laura Numeroff author spotlight area in the media center to attract my young readers and give them some fun books to read and discuss with their friends. The students will also learn about the author who wrote them. In addition, even my reluctant readers will enjoy the plush characters from these books such as If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Moose a Muffin. I will use these characters as a hook that will help the stories come to life!
