In my classroom, I use an economy system to promote good behavior as well as teach my students lifelong skills. Many of my students have never had the opportunity to earn money of their own and have to save it. They also may not be aware how to write a check or balance a checkbook. My classroom economy helps address all of those skills as well as promoting desirable behaviors in the classroom. My students work hard to earn their Classroom Bucks and I want to provide them with something desirable to spend it on. Currently, my students are able to spend their Classroom Bucks on candy, homework passes, and school supplies. However, I feel like they may need something more age appropriate. Allowing them the opportunity to purchase time to sit in a bean bag chair and listen to music will be a huge hit! Thank you so much for helping make my classroom economy even more successful!
