The overall idea of basic level flexible seating for students is primarily to help my students recognize, then try and figure what to do with the extra energy many possess during class time, along with developing more active and alert students, as well as creating healthy lifelong habits. Flexible seating will also offer my students opportunity to decide how they best learn and what type of movement interferes with their learning. They will have the opportunity to choose a new seat in the morning and again in the afternoon after lunch. Choosing a seat and being able to except when a seat is not available hells them learn patience and how to have compassion for their classmates.
