My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. I quickly learned that the physical library in my classroom is not enough to spark the interests of every single one of my students. I was able to find apps on their iPad (like EPIC!) that allow my students to search for and select a book that interests them. These apps will even read the books aloud for my students. In order for them to be able to fully use this resource, they each need their own pair of headphones. As an ELA teacher, I want to instill a love of reading in my students. To me, that means helping them find an author or genre of literature they enjoy and also showing them how reading that be fun and relaxing. I want to create a reading corner in my classroom that is warm and inviting and comfortable! Nothing is better than curling up with a good book.
