My students love to sit and listen to me read to them every day. I know they would love to gather on a carpet to listen to a story, but our current carpet is old and worn and looks dirty. A new carpet will make a world of difference in our classroom. We can use the carpet to come together to read as a group instead of sitting in desks. They can also use the carpet during center time and when reading with a friend. A carpet with the alphabet and numerals would be an awesome way to extend their learning experience.
