This project will help provide snacks for my students so that they can focus on learning. We are in class until late in the afternoon, and the time between lunch and dismissal can be a struggle for my kindergarteners. When they are feeling hungry they are easily distracted. To help them focus and stay on task, we have an afternoon snack to fuel their minds and bodies. When my students don't have to worry about being hungry they can devote all their focus and energy into learning. This makes a huge difference in their growth and success throughout the year. As a teacher, I see how my students' mood and behavior improves when they have the energy they need to learn. Our daily snack gives them that energy to be engaged in learning.
