Play is an important part of our Kindergarten day, and these dramatic play materials will provide my students with endless opportunities for imaginative play and learning! You may see a group of astronauts preparing for launch, veterinarians caring for their animals, or big winners at the carnival, but at the same time students will be growing socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Dramatic play allows children to express their thoughts and feelings while at the same time supporting math and literacy. The astronauts may be reading or writing a pre-flight checklist, the veterinarian may help comfort the owner of a hurt puppy, and at the carnival they may be counting and selling tickets. By helping to create dramatic play areas that fit everyday life, children are able to apply and expand their knowledge of the world around them. Your support of this project will create a fun, safe, and welcoming area where students can explore life and learning the playful way!
