As a first year teacher, I am in need of the basic essentials for my classroom. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by being able to provide them with leveled books to create lifelong readers. The easel will be an essential component as I will be able to guide my students through instruction as they will be able to follow along with their personal whiteboard. The easel will be used a variety of ways, from morning messages to guided whole instruction. The individual whiteboards will be used a variety of ways as well. These individual whiteboards will be extremely useful during both math and literay centers. We will have an amazing time learning together and I would want my students to be as comfy as possible. Providing students with choices will motivate them to advocate for themselves throughout their first year in school. Allowing my students to choose their method of seating will help my students focus during instruction. The organization cart will help organize the materials needed for centers. Each group will have a designated drawer and students will be held accountable to gather the materials they need for the specific lesson. The student mailbox will help with organization and will allow students to take home their completed work and important announcements.
