I would like to incorporate books into my music lessons to help support reading strategies that the classroom teacher is utilizing with the students. Books bring the world of endless possibilities to students. I will use the books to foster students' creativity. Books can lay the foundation for the students to come up with their own way of using musical expression. Students can use rhythm, harmony, expressive qualities, and movement to enhance and interpret a different way of interacting with a story. By working with the book in a musical sense, the students reading and comprehension skills will be strengthened.
