As a first-year teacher in a Title I school, I am starting from scratch with students who are already at a disadvantage. As a country, we continue to work to improve Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) subjects and I plan to give them special treatment in the classroom. To that end, I am asking for a tablet (iPad), protective case, and special math literacy books to help my 1st graders get off to the best start possible in a challenging environment. I would like to use these new math books to tie literacy to math. With the iPad, I can bring in technologies that have become critical to success in our society. Our classrooms need the same technology to assist our students to be successful
