Yearbook students are our school’s historians. They need the proper equipment to gain confidence in their photojournalism skills. The photos they capture around the school and community using this equipment will become a part of our documented history. Students were forced to use a lot of cell phone photos for their page layouts last year. I am trying to build our program up so that students gain skills using the proper equipment as well as feeling confident while covering events. Having more equipment will allow students to check out a camera and have a decent camera backpack that is comfortable enough to carry around all day. Carrying such heavy equipment all day is exhausting.
