If my project is fully funded, my students will be able to safely enter, exit, and walk through the room knowing they will not be tripping on backpack straps! We do not have any counter space in our classroom, and so we have been placing backpacks on the floor. Having a cubby is not only necessary for student safety, but teaches organizational skills crucial for daily living. I currently do not have any countertop space to store student IEP goals, task boxes, work samples, or student materials! Not only will this help my current students, but this set of cubbies will last for decades to come! You will not only help one class, you will help each class I have throughout my entire career!
