In the age of technology, the iPad will allow my students, especially those hesitant to participate in therapy, an age-appropriate and fun way to access social emotional resources. There are many social-emotional apps that can assist students with developing important skills related to empathy, cooperation, conflict resolution, and self-control including Emotionary, Live Happy, Stop, Breathe, & Think, and The Social Express. The therapeutic games will be a great way to engage students and help them learn new skills while also having fun. My goal as a social worker is to help my students acquire skills related to self-awareness, social awareness, responsible decision making, relationship skills, and self-management in order to empower them to deal with daily struggles in pro-social ways. I believe these resources will help my students to overcome challenges and integrate learned skills into everyday life.

About my class
