When we say Houston Strong we mean it! In the past few years, we have endured and pushed through adversity after adversity. Our students have pushed through Harvey and a worldwide Pandemic. Although they are tough, they still face many hardships. Being 90% economically disadvantaged my students still show up and show out for their education. About 53% of our students come to us behind. No matter what they still push hard. These iPads will further bridge those instructional gaps. By the third grade, if a child cannot read, they are projected to drop out of school. Reading programs like Imagine Literacy and Imagine Math has been proven to grow students 2 or more levels. While these programs are not the end-all, they are pushing the needle that much further.
