Often students with disabilities are all too often overlooked as having value in our schools. There are not enough safe zones for our students to engage in their own school. often our schools are preoccupied with tests scores and achievements that rate individuals in schools. As a result, students can be left behind who do not meet that standard. All Students, especially students, who happen to have a disability face the same pressures without any real consideration. Music is proven way to engage all students regardless of ability to be part of their school. Thus making school fun and important again. Music is a way for students to learn about Math and Science, but also Art, attention,social and emotional needs, stress relief and allowing students discover who they can become. Most of all, music is way my students can express themselves in a positive and fun way, which they may not have thought possible.
