Our Pre-AP English classroom primarily serves a diverse range of student learners with a emphasis on critical and creative thinking. Students sharpen their literary and rhetorical analysis skills over a range of in-depth textual studies including Gene Yang's American Born Chinese, Nancy Farmer's The House of the Scorpion, and Salman Rushdie's Haroun and the Sea of Stories. Activities are divided between individual and collaborative learning events including analytical and creative writing, classroom debate, dialogue, and discourse as emergent learners and stewards of democracy.
