Through the theater productions at our school, we’re building student expertise on stage and behind the scenes. These two pieces of sound equipment will let us not only put on better shows and create better theater experiences for our actors and audiences, they will also help train our behind-the-scenes tech crew in professional sound design by giving our students access to professional equipment. The CD player is replacing a component that’s breaking down, resulting in some unfortunate moments in past theater events when the sound simply cut out. The mixer, coupled with a wireless mic kit, will help us amplify our students’ voices. Mics are used in all professional productions. Without them, our students, and our audiences trying to hear are at a disadvantage. This mixer will help our actors be heard. We’ve chosen two pieces of sound equipment that were identified by theater professionals to work with the existing components that we have and are create a good foundation to expand our technical capabilities. We can grow with these two components, using them right now and for years to come.
