I work with multiple grades of students who are working to build their academic and interpersonal skills. Each day we work to achieve our grade level academic skills and to develop age appropriate self regulation and social skills. The use of the requested Lego materials will give a mode for the students to work with partners during our daily project time. Many of my students are still working on sharing, taking turns, and speaking appropriately with peers and adult. These kits will allow for high interest partner work with adult support to learn these skills, in addition to the S.T.E.A.M skills that are embedded with the use of these tools. My group of students love to work with the hand me down Lego sets that I have been given through the years. These sets are tired, but well loved. The addition of these new, and complete kits will provide hours of creative play and learning for years to come.
