Obesity and diabetes is a growing concern in our state. Currently we rank 20th in the nation in obesity with 31.4% of our state citizens being obese. My goal is to change that, starting in my class. These items will help hold my students' attention and keep them involved in physical activity. Each of these items will be used in physical activities that will target the students' cardio, agility, strength, and endurance. The Frisbee will be used in games such as Ultimate Frisbee, which is a high cardio intense game. The Slam Ball game works on the students hand eye coordination while they are constantly moving around the net using agility to get to the ball. The resistance bands will help work to increase the students' speed when used in sprint work activities. The playground balls will be used in games such as four square, handball, and dodge ball which work on the the students' reactions, agility, accuracy, and endurance. The students will be very thrilled to receive these items and get to do exciting activities that they haven't had the opportunity to play before.
