I teach 1st grade in Brownsville, Texas. I have been teaching for 13 years, and there is nothing else that I can imagine myself doing. Many students in this area where I am work, come from a low socio-economic background. Despite any hardships that they may be going through, as 1st graders, they still arrive at school each day with their hearts full of innocent joy, and a love for learning. As a teacher, all I want to accomplish is to help bridge their gaps, and continue to foster and grow that love for learning that they still have. Every class is different, but the innocence, enthusiasm, and love for learning and preserving thru all of life's difficulties never changes. My students are smart and silly, and love dancing, and singing to songs. They love reading novels, and they love seeing how much they improve weekly in reading and writing. Everyday my students amaze me, and I am lucky to be called their teacher!
